Computational Facilities

The ITP maintains several in house reduced gravity two-phase flow computer codes as well as industry reduced gravity codes such as Creare’s MOTRAN multiphase modeling software and prediction codes for flow regime, pressure drop, and heat transfer for reduced gravity conditions. Texas A&M University also has a number of computational resources available for use at both the department and at the university level. Texas A&M’s Department of Nuclear Engineering has one of the best equipped Departmental Computer Facilities in the nation.

Also, the small size of the department allows for increased CPU time per user and the department maintains a dedicated full time system administration team. The Texas A&M University Supercomputing Facility is dedicated to providing the hardware, software, support, and related services needed by Texas A&M faculty and students for their research and educational needs. The hardware supported by the Supercomputing Facility is available for ITP use.
